Kaspersky Thin Client

Manageable and secure
thin client infrastructure

Informazioni sulla soluzione

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) increases workflow accessibility and security while also making IT administration more convenient.

Users connect to virtual desktops using thin clients. Remote desktops are limited to only the required apps and services, so it’s much easier to factor in all possible actions that can harm IT systems. The data users work with is stored on the server, not the user’s device, so configuring and replacing thin clients is easier than traditional PCs.

There are also other advantages to VDI that simplify administration and can help reduce project costs. However, thin clients need protection and convenient tools for monitoring and centralized management.

Kaspersky Secure Remote Workspace (KSRW) builds reliable, transparent and functional thin client infrastructure. Its main component, Kaspersky Thin Client, is powered by the KasperskyOS operating system. KSRW ensures convenient and predictable thin client operation. The easy-to-use Kaspersky Security Center management console and Kaspersky Security Management Suite plugin tools provide centralized management of thin clients.

The key element of Kaspersky Secure Remote Workspace is Kaspersky Thin Client. Thanks to KasperskyOS it has innate security, or Cyber Immunity. No matter the scenario, even during infrastructure attacks, its components will continue to operate. This is made possible thanks to the following:

  • the integrity of data received from the user, KSC centralized management server, and connection broker servers;
  • secure Kaspersky Thin Client updates;
  • the confidentiality and integrity of data transferred between Kaspersky Thin Client, remote desktops, the KSC server, the logging server and connection broker.
Security

Kaspersky Thin Client has Cyber Immunity and doesn't require additional protection

Single control center

Convenient local and centralized management of thin clients and data channels

Compatibility

Option to connect to various desktop virtualization systems, including Windows and SKALA-R remote desktops

Easy migration

Security is monitored via the Kaspersky Security Center console which simplifies migration from traditional workstations to thin clients

Markets

Smart City
Public Sector
Transport Infrastructure
Industrial Automation

Threat protection

While VDI is in many ways more secure than traditional workplaces, it can't provide full protection on its own. The Cyber Immune operating system that powers Kaspersky Thin Client, the key element of the Kaspersky Secure Remote Workspace solution, provides security by default without the use of additional tools. Robust control and advanced tools are required to centrally administer thin clients.

Attacks via local operating terminals

One of the most popular types of cyberattacks to gain access to data and vulnerable data channels

System operation disruption

If one VDI component is compromised, all others are threatened

Unauthorized access

If there's no control over devices used to access virtual machines, it's easier for attackers to access the VDI and corporate network

Complexity of administration

Without a convenient centralized management system for thin clients, configuring, updating or auditing them is a time-consuming and risky process.

Products in the solution

Kaspersky Thin Client

Thin clients make working with VDI significantly easier. They are more convenient to administer and manage than employees’ personal devices, and contribute to greater data security, as only IT staff has physical access to corporate information.
Kaspersky Thin Client powered by KasperskyOS turns thin clients into a reliable and easily managed element of the corporate VDI.

Reduce risks

It is impossible to store information on user terminals, download it to unauthorized media or access untrusted resources

Comfortable operation of thin client infrastructures

Settings and OS image updates on thin clients are managed centrally

Caratteristiche

Basic connectivity

Connection to virtual desktops via Microsoft RDP and to virtual machines within the Skala-R VRM virtualization system are supported. The list of supported connection types is set to be expanded

USB support

Popular tokens (RUTOKEN, SafeNet and JaCarta) and USB drive passthrough are supported

Data security assistance

Security certificate management is supported

Piattaforme hardware
